Christophers Career began at East Staffordhsire District Council offices in Burton Upon Trent.
After in Cirencester, Gloustershire as a senior accountant then he Moved to Huntingdon where he had secured a senior accountant postiion at Anglian water in 1979.
He worked at Anglian water Plc until 2003 , during his 24 year career at Anglian Chris was Finance Director for 8 years and then CEO for 6 Years.

He was Chairman of Northern Ireland Water Ltd for four years from 2006
Chris was also a Non Executive Director for seven years of Grontmij UK
Ltd the Consulting Engineering Group quoted on the Dutch SE, a Non
Executive Director of Addenbrookes Hospital NHS Trust and a member of
the Government’s Fourth Advisory Committee on Business in the
Environment.
For eight years until March 2012 he was Deputy Chairman of Monitor, the Independent NHS Regulator.

More recently he was Independent Chairman of the Tameside & Glossop Care Together Programme Board helping with a major reconfiguration and integration of Health and Social services in the region. He is also a special adviser to the Board of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospital Foundation Trust and a Healthcare Associate with Harvey Nash.

In the last three years as Interim Chairman, he has helped to turn round two under-performing NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals - firstly at Sherwood Forest and then Milton Keynes.
He was also a Non Executive Director for seven years of Grontmij UK Ltd the Consulting Engineering Group quoted on the Dutch SE, a Non Executive Director of Addenbrookes Hospital NHS Trust and a member of the Government’s Fourth Advisory Committee on Business in the Environment.

Chris worked in both the Private and Public sectors.
He is also a frequent speaker on Leadership, Change Management and Sustainable Development.
