Mike 30th January 2017

I write to express my deep condolences and indeed shock at your sad loss. As you will know, working with DBH was one of Chris’s last assignments and as Chief Executive here, much of that work was channelled through me and I met Chris regularly while the assignment was active prior to illness. Chris did a very good job here with us at a difficult time for the Trust and for me personally. I always found his comments and advice constructive and developmental and he drew on a very wide range of experience to reach his conclusions and offered them in a humane and measured way. At a personal level, Chris was very supportive and we enjoyed a good relationship, which of course became warmer as we got to know each other. I am amply able to tell you that his pride and enjoyment of his time spent with the family shone through as he recounted holidays and good times spent together or keenly anticipated. I do hope it helps the family to know how much Chris was appreciated by one of his professional clients and how proud he was of you. Best wishes, Mike Pinkerton Chief Executive Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
