Chris and I did not get nearly enough time together. Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe the pain, but we are also grateful for the precious years we shared together. Chris was my soulmate and my best friend, he was the guiding light in our family. He was witty and had a wickedly dry sense of humour which I suspect he kept under wraps to the wider world. His level headedness and calm, measured approach always helped us to remain grounded. He was wise and insightful. But most importantly he gave me the two most amazing girls in the world. Chris was devoted to all his children – their strength and courage these last few days is a sign that Chris is still with us in spirit and that he lives on in them. He taught us never to give up. He saw the good in everyone and has always taught us to look at things from somebody else’s perspective. Christopher Mellor you were - and will always be - my rock. I love you ….. always.
